Created on Purpose: Discovering God's Design for Your Life

Created on Purpose

Discovering God's Design for Your Life

Have you ever asked yourself,
"Why am I here?"
It's one of the deepest questions every person eventually faces.
Some spend their lives chasing success.
Others pursue comfort.
Some search for recognition.
Yet even after achieving everything they hoped for, many still feel something is missing.
Why?
Because we were never created simply to exist.
We were created with purpose.

Designed by God
The Bible tells us,

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
(Ephesians 2:10 NKJV)

Think about that for a moment.
You are not random.
You are not overlooked.
You are not an afterthought.
The word workmanship describes something carefully crafted—a masterpiece created with intention.
God didn't simply make you.
He designed you.
Every gift.
Every strength.
Every experience.
Even the difficult seasons He has faithfully carried you through can become part of the story He uses to bless others.

Purpose Is Bigger Than a Career
When people hear the word calling, they often think of pastors, missionaries, or church leaders.
But God's purpose reaches far beyond a job title.
Your calling is not limited to what you do for a living.
It includes how you live.
A teacher reflects Christ in the classroom.
A mechanic honors God through excellence and integrity.
A parent disciples children around the dinner table.
A business owner leads with generosity and honesty.
Every believer has a place in God's Kingdom.
Purpose isn't reserved for a few.
It's the invitation of every follower of Jesus.

Faithfulness Before Fame
Our culture celebrates platforms.
God celebrates faithfulness.
Jesus spent most of His earthly life in relative obscurity.
Moses spent decades tending sheep.
David faithfully watched sheep long before leading a nation.
God is never in a hurry to build influence.
He first builds character.
The greatest purpose isn't becoming well known.
It's becoming faithful.

Discovering Your Design
How do you begin discovering God's purpose?
Start by asking:
  • What has God placed in my heart?
  • What opportunities has He already given me?
  • What gifts seem to bring life to others?
  • Where do I naturally see needs around me?
Often God's direction unfolds one faithful step at a time.
He rarely reveals the entire journey.
He simply asks us to trust Him with today's assignment.

Living on Mission Every Day
Purpose isn't something you discover once.
It's something you live daily.
Every conversation...
Every decision...
Every act of kindness...
Every opportunity to serve...
Becomes another chance to reflect Jesus.
Your life becomes a living testimony that God's Kingdom is at work.

Your Next Step
Spend a few quiet moments with God this week and ask:

"Lord, where are You inviting me to make a difference today?"

Don't overlook the ordinary.
God often accomplishes extraordinary things through ordinary people who faithfully say yes.

Summit Focus
Design for Living

At The Summit, we believe every person has been uniquely created by God for a purpose. As we grow in His presence, study His Word, and walk with His people, we begin discovering how our gifts, experiences, and passions fit into His greater Kingdom story. Life becomes most meaningful when we stop asking, "What do I want to do?" and begin asking, "Lord, what did You create me to do?"

If you're longing to discover God's purpose for your life, we'd love to invite you to The Summit Dover. Together, we're learning that true fulfillment isn't found in chasing success, it's found in faithfully walking out the design God has placed on every life.
